Rant.

So, the most ridiculous thing happened to me just now.

I went to buy food and on my way back home.....
I slipped and fell on the road. And I twisted and sprained my ankle.

Thank god it was an ulu road and there was barely any cars there. The pain was excruciating and I I could barely stand. The thing about this area is that there are a lot of people but very little cars. And guess what?

Everyone looked at me but no one offered help. I sat there cringing in pain for about 5 minutes. And no, no one bothered to even approach me and ask if I was okay. They just stared and walk away, while constantly turning back to take a look. There were so many people there, but no, everyone chose to let me sit on the road and let a vehicle knock me down or something.

I am a Singaporean who values giving back to society and helping others. And when that happened, I was disappointed. Do most Singaporeans think they should just mind their own business, even when someone else's life is at stake?

What happened to being a gracious and courteous community? Why don't people constantly look out for one another and help each other? Are humans selfish by nature?

Call me a fool for overreacting, but for someone who believes strongly in helping others, no words can express my disappointment.

Despite my disappointment, I still believe in helping others. For it doesn't pay to be kind.
To make Earth a better place, you should always start from yourself.
Because every little thing you do counts.
